Planting
The seeding is done by native farmers who have knowledge of fruitful and effective farming techniques. They plant premium toor seeds with care and give them adequate time to grow. Development of the toor bean starts when a plant matures. Once a crop has reached full maturity, it is harvested for further processing.
Harvesting
Some farmers hand pick the dried toor pods from the plants, trash the toor out of the pods & store the whole toor in a dry environment to hasten the drying process. Some farmers also utilize new-age machinery like combine harvesters to harvest and trash the dry toor from the completely dried plants. This harvested TOOR is the raw material used to to make toor dal.
Processing
Raw material is first cleaned for farm impurities like mud, sticks, stones, leaves etc. Then the material is dried in a closed environment to reduce internal moisture. Post drying the material passes through a series of machines for de-husking, splitting, grading & sorting. Once the material is sorted it goes through the final set of machines for final finishing as per customers requirements and then transferred to bagging machines to be packed.
Packaging
The finished products is subsequently packed, as per the customers requirements, as per the guidelines of the Legal Metrology Department, Govt. Of India. Packed Toor Dal is stacked in the on site godown in readiness for delivery as and when required in the market.
